BIOIDDI CENTER

To develop bio-sustainable communities, with the goal of improving social and economic conditions while at the same time striving to protect and preserve the environment.

Bio-IDDI began its operations with reforestation projects, planting Jatropha curcas and Ricinus comunis and the production of biofuels that has contributed to the development of the neediest rural communities in the border region with Haiti.

Currently, Bio-IDDI works in the poorest areas of the Dominican Republic developing a wide range of actions:

  • Reforestation through the planting of trees that produce oleaginous seeds;
  • Comprehensive watershed management;
  • Development of small fields for subsistence and energy production;
  • Reduction of air and soil contamination;
  • Production of biofuels, such as oils, biodiesel and bioethanol;
  • Promotion of renewable energy from biomass, converting biomass into electrical energy or biogas using biodigestors;
  • Creation of cooperatives for the production and management of electrical energy
