THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT IS
THE RESPONSIBLE OF COORDINATING PROJECTS AND
ACTIVITIES RELATED TO HEALTH PROMOTION AND
DESEASE PREVENTION, ALWAYS INVOLVING
BENEFICIARIES LIVING IN THE PROJECT TARGET
COMMUNITIES.
OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT
Promote a culture on the prevention of
health involving the population
actively.
To empower community organizations,
raise the awareness and unite them, so
they take actions on the promotion, and
health services in their communities.
STRATEGIES
Strategies implemented to reach the
objectives on target communites are as
follw:
Create Primary Health Units (taking into
account the needs of different
communities).
Focus on prevention actions with
families.
Promote voluntary participation through
an In-Kind Incentive Plan aimed at
personal development and the
sustainability of actions.
Instruct and incorporate community
organizations to the education process
and community health service.
Support and coordinate actions with the
different agents working in the health
branch.
Train people in the communities and
their leaders as a mean to assure
sustainability of projects once they are
finished.
Integrate in the activities, political
level, community leaders and
representatives with local level.
